Govinda Naam Mera Review

Since the movie is a Shashank Khaitan directorial who is known for his works in the Dulhaniya franchise, originality at some level was expected. The film starts on a light-hearted note and doesn’t take itself seriously for the first 10 minutes after which all the drama starts unravelling.

Initially, It seems like ‘Govinda Naam Mera’ will have a major focus towards comedy with some hilarious one-liners, but it had a lot to offer with suspense, thrills, mystery and romance. The fine blend of all the elements makes this film a perfect masala entertainer. While the one-liners aren’t that funny, they sometimes manage to create laughter. Kiara-Vicky-Bhumi shines onscreen as a wonderful trio with a unique offering. Not to forget, an awesome cameo of Ranbir Kapoor and a glimpse of CID’s Daya is a visual treat for the viewers.

Director Shashank Khaitan’s idea of mixing genres and presenting unusually succeeds in this movie. Even soundtracks like ‘Bijli,’ ‘Kya Baat Hai 2.0’ and others are noticeable and link pleasingly with the sequences in the film.

Govinda Naam Mera: Star Performances

Vicky Kaushal as Govinda Waghmare has done something different from his earlier roles. The actor manages to pull off a comedy with ease and engraves with his endearing expressions and on-the-point acting.

Kiara Advani as Govinda’s girlfriend fits well into her character of a Marathi girl and convinces her with her act. Her striking chemistry with Govinda is all amount of love, romance and a little drama.

While Bhumi Pednekar has less screen time, she aces her part of Govinda’s wife with her impeccable acting skills. The way she dominates everyone around her is indeed one of the eye-catching aspects of the film.

Renuka Shahane as Govinda’s mother is a powerhouse of entertainment and we do not need to explain. Other cast members have also done a commendable job.
