“Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin” fame Shafaq Naaz REVEALS she was rejected due to weight gain

Shafaq Naaz is a television actress who has appeared in shows such as “Sapna Babul Ka Bidaai,” “Mahabharat,” “The Mahakali- Anth hi Aarambh Hai,” and “Chidiya Ghar.” Naaz is currently seen as Shruti in the daily soap ‘Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin.’ She recently made headlines for a shocking revelation in which she exposed the television industry’s beauty standards. Shafaq recently revealed in an interview that she was turned down for a job due to a slight weight gain.

Recently interview with news portal, Shafaq said, “Once I was at an audition where they clearly told me that they couldn’t cast me because I had put on some weight. I was shocked to realise that even just a few kilos matter when it comes to getting work. I can’t imagine what other girls who are chubby or heavy go through on a daily basis. Some time ago, I was going through some health issues due to which I gained weight. That made me feel very conscious about my own body for the first time. This happened because we actors feel the pressure constantly.”

The actress went on to say that she didn’t understand the industry’s “so-called beauty standards,” which require actresses to look a certain way. Shafaq also mentioned that such negative experiences can have an impact on actors’ mental health. Furthermore, the Mahabharat actress stated that she believes that an actor’s looks should not matter if he or she is a good performer. Shafaq Naaz concluded by saying that it’s past time to let go of showbiz’s unrealistic beauty standards.
