From Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies to Anushka Sharma’s Chakda Xpress here is Netflix India’s slate for the year

Netflix is celebrating its 25th anniversary, and a massive event has been planned in Mumbai to commemorate the occasion. The OTT platform has announced a slate of films set to be released in 2022. Discover Netflix’s year-long film slate, which includes Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies, Chakda Xpress, and the Hindi adaptation of The Devotion of Suspect X.

It’s going to be an exciting year for moviegoers. While most films have returned to theatres, the OTT space is doing its part to keep viewers hooked up. The Netflix film lineup for the year was announced at a press event in Mumbai. From Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor, and Agastya Nanda debut film The Archies to Anushka Sharma’s Chakda Xpress and Kareena Kapoor Khan’s Hindi adaptation of The Devotion of Suspect X, here’s the movie lineup to get you excited!

Zoya Akhtar directed The Archies has been in news ever since it was announced. Since the film makes the grand debut of star kids Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor, Agastya Nanda. While talking about the film the filmmaker said, “It’s been an absolute honour to be asked to make an Indian adaptation and the first-ever film for this very iconic Archies franchise. This is a surreal experience since Archie Comics was a part of my childhood. It is super exciting to take these beloved characters and introduce them to a new generation but still keep the nostalgia of the original comic alive. We have set it in the Anglo-Indian community in India and can’t wait to transport you to the magical, fictional town of Riverdale.”
