From Vikram Vedha to Ponniyin Selvan films and shows to look forward in the coming week

In the final week of September, Bollywood and Hollywood have a slew of big releases to offer. From Hrithik Roshan’s Vikram Vedha to Aishwarya Rai’s Ponniyin Selvan: Part 1, big multi-starrers are on the way. Meanwhile, Netflix will release the Venice Film Festival favourite Blonde, starring Ana De Armas, and Disney + Hostatr will release the long-awaited sequel Hocus Pocus 2.

On the other hand, several weekly shows will be released on OTT, including the sixth episode of House Of The Dragon and The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power, which will be available on Disney+ Hotstar and Amazon Prime Video, respectively. On the weekend, two episodes of the K-drama Little Women will be released, as will new episodes of the Hindi shows Criminal Justice Season 3 and She-Hulk on Disney+ Hotstar.

Here are the films to look out for during the week of September 26 to September 30, 2022.

Vikram Vedha (Theatres) September 30:

The film, which stars Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan, is a remake of the 2017 Tamil film of the same name. The film follows Vikram, an honest police inspector on the hunt for Vedha, a feared gangster. When Vedha surrenders, he tells three stories that alter Vikram’s perception of good and evil. Radhika Apte and Rohit Saraf also star.

Ponniyin Selvan: Part 1 (Theatres) September 30:

The film, directed by Vikram, Kartik, and Jayam Ravi and starring Aishwarya Rai and Trisha, is based on the same-named book. The film is set during the Chola empire and follows the struggle for the throne of two brothers and their enemies. Nandini, who also conspires against the throne, will be played by Aishwarya Rai in the film.

Don’t Worry Darling (Theatres) September 30:

Dont Worry Darling

Don’t Worry Darling is directed by Olivia Wilde and stars Florence Pugh, Chris Pine, and Harry Styles in lead roles. The film is set in a 1950s California utopian town. “While living a carefree luxurious life, a wife discovers that her husband’s company may be up to some unsavoury business outside the town,” according to the synopsis.

Hocus Pocus 2 (Disney+ Hotstar) September 30:

The film is a sequel to Hocus Pocus, with Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy reprising their roles as witches. What happens when the Sanderson Sisters return to modern-day Salem is explored in the sequel. When three young women summon them, they wreak havoc on the world.

Blonde (Netflix) September 28:

Blonde

Ana De Armas directs this fictional portrait of Marilyn Monroe. The Netflix documentary boldly reimagines the Hollywood legend’s tumultuous private life — and the price she paid for fame as her career rose and fell over decades. The teaser and trailer for the film generate a lot of buzz due to Ana De Armas’ acting and the film’s retro feel.

Plan A Plan B (Netflix) September 30:

Plan A Plan B

The Netflix series, starring Riteish Deshmukh as a divorce lawyer and Tamannaah Bhatia as a matchmaker, explores what happens when people with opposing viewpoints cross paths. Deshmukh is a successful divorce lawyer with a secret, whereas Bhatia believes marriage is for everyone except her.

Bullet Train (ZEE5) September 29:

The film, which was previously released in theatres, will be available on demand this week. Brad Pitt stars as Ladybug, an unlucky assassin who is determined to do his job peacefully after a string of bad luck. However, during his final job on a train, he meets the world’s biggest and baddest assassins.

Weekly Releases:

Little Women (Saturday-Sunday), House Of The Dragon (Monday), The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power (Friday), She-Hulk (Thursday), and Criminal Justice season 3 (Friday).
