From Satya to The Family Man, 5 times Manoj Bajpayee proved that he’s the quintessential choice when it comes to crime-thrillers

Manoj Bajpayee is one of those actors whose presence fills the screen with perfection. The best part is that he always delivers perfection with whatever he presents. Over the years, the actor has proven that he can master any role in any film. Be it actions from Gangs Of Wasseypur or drama from Raajneeti or even comedy from Sooraj Pe Mangal Bhaari, the actor has aced his performances in every character he plays. He has always given performances that will be talked about forever.

As the actor is all set to bring the much-awaited crime drama The Family Man Season 2, let’s take a look at some of his best performances in the crime thrillers.

Satya (1998):

Released in the year 1998, Satya was directed by Ram Gopal Varma and it was considered as Bajpayee’s big break into Bollywood. The film showcased the underworld based in Mumbai. Satya was not just appreciated by the critics but even the audience loved the film. The realistic world of Indian gangsters was shown with utmost perfection. Manoj’s dialogue, “Mumbai ka King Kaun, Bhiku Mhatre?” and the song Sapne Mein Milti Hai can never be forgotten by anyone for sure. This guns-and-gangs saga introduced the world to the brilliant acting of Manoj Bajpayee (and he won the National Award for the same).

Gangs of Wasseypur (2012):

This one has to be my personal favorite. Despite so many outstanding actors, Manoj Bajpayee made sure to shine with his character. The film starred Manoj Bajpayee, Richa Chadda, Reema Sen, Piyush Mishra, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Pankaj Tripathi, Huma Qureshi, and Tigmanshu Dhulia, among others in the pivotal roles. It was a cult hit of the year 2012. Bajpayee as Sardar Khan became everyone’s favorite for his flawless performance.

Shootout At Wadala (2013):

Released in the year 2013, Shootout At Wadala was directed by Sanjay Gupta. With his phenomenal performance, Manoj Bajpayee as gangster Zubair Imtiaz Haksar was a treat to watch. The actor once again proved how thriller and crime are his forte besides other roles.

Satyameva Jayate (2018):

Satyamev Jayate’s story revolved around an honest police officer Shivansh Rathod (Manoj Bajpayee) as an honest police officer who is behind Veer (John Abraham) who is on a mission of killing the corrupt police officers. This action thriller was written and directed by Milap Milan Zaveri and nobody could be the perfect choice besides Manoj for the character of Shivansh. From being a loving husband and father to being a hot-tempered officer, he was true to his character throughout.

The Family Man (2019 and 2021)

The Family Man showed Manoj Bajpayee playing the character of a senior analyst in the fictional Threat Analysis and Surveillance Cell (TASC). The Raj and DK directorial web series was released on Amazon Prime Video. Carrying two faces, Bajpayee as Srikant is seen fighting terrorists on the field while hiding the real nature of his jobs from his two kids. Manoj’s acting fits perfectly in the character and we all are waiting for the second part of the series which will release on June 4, 2021.

No doubt, Manoj Bajpayee is one of the most versatile actors in the industry.
