‘Filmistaan’ is Nikhil Kakkar’s debut film which won The Silver Crow Pheasant Award for Best Debut Film in International Film Festival Of Kerala.
Set in the Hindi film industry, movie is about an assistant director Sunny who is a wanna be actor. While working in a documentary with American crew, he gets kidnapped by Islamic terrorists who mistook him for an American. After knowing that he was not their target, they decide to keep him captivated until they capture their target. The change in hearts of the pathan clad guards and his survival among guns and border forms the base of the story.
