Farooq Sheikh passes away in Dubai
Veteran actor Farooq Sheikh died of heart attack last night. He passed away in Dubai where he , along with other actors were present for a concert. The news of his death came as sudden shock for the film fraternity for which he was a revered personality.
Farooq Sheikh who had acted in popular films in the seventies and eighties like Umrao Jan, Chashme Baddoor, Saath Saath and Noori. His pairing with Dipti Naval is the most popular among film lovers. They acted in successful films like Saath Saath and Kisise Na Kehna. Farooq was a comedian and actor par excellence.
After a short stint with the theater and small roles in films, Farooq was noted for his performance in the Satyjit Ray directed film “ Shatranj Ke Khiladi”. Chashme Baddoor was one of the most acclaimed works of comedy in the industry in which the actor palys one of the lead roles. In the 90s he was seen in serials like Chamatkar, Ji Mantri. He was noted as one of the few naturally gifted actors in Comedy.
Amitabh Bachchan , Boman Irani, Smriti Irani , Sharrukh Khan along with several other actors expressed deep condolence at the actor’s sudden demise.
