After one week, the SRK starrer film Fan has failed to do better over the Box Office as expected. The film seemed to be a commercially disappointing as the collection dropped down during the weekdays. After a decent weekend collection (though was less as expected and as compared to other SRK movies) the movie gave dismaying figures during the weekdays despite being the solo release. The entire industry of Hindi films, which was expecting another money spinner from SRK and Yash Raj Films, seems to be in a great disappointment. The previous films released in B Town by Shah Rukh Khan witnessed a massive collection in its first week collection.
As per reports, the first week box office report tolled to around 72.25 crores, which is low on comparing its budget that went to around 105 crore deducting SRK’s fee. Looking at the figure, the film has somehow failed to surpass the expectation of the audience. The other key reason for not seeing a huge surge in collection could be the lack of targeting single screens and small towns and locations, which was the case with previous movies. SRK and his Fan team has targeted primarily over the Multiplexes, which has an intelligent crowd who chooses the film with wit.
In a sense, the film has failed to garner positive word of mouth for the SRK movie. This has therefore failed to garner the response for the audience. However, comparing with other releases of 2016 like Airlift, The Jungle Book and Kapoor and Sons, the film Fan has managed to secure a decent collection at the end of the first week and secondly checking the overseas collection and the ones in the south makes the film a decent grocer. And this week some low budget films releasing this week is likely to less hamper the collection of Fan.
