Exclusive : Delhi has a lot more fashion, but Mumbai has Bollywood – Dhruv Kapoor

Delhi based designer Dhruv Kapoor who has created his own mark in the fashion industry with a long list of celeb clienteles in his kitty including Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Nargis Fakhri, Sonam Kapoor, Kajol, Sonakshi Sinha, and Malaika Arora Khan says Delhi has a lot more fashion, they are energetic but Mumbai has Bollywood.
On speaking about global fashion and Indian fashion being accepted in foreign markets, he commented, “We accept western culture but when it comes to the foreign markets I think now we are very far from our Indian culture being accepted in the foreign market. Nobody in the foreign market will walk with a lehenga on the ramp.”
“There is a lot of money here. Comparatively we are more commercial than other markets,” he added on the lines of commercialising fashion overseas.
On the fashion front he says trying something new is exciting. “We don’t try to stick by trends; we try to make something new.”
“While individually, Every individual has its own talent. Everytime there is something new to see.” He added.
Jersey is the new trend, says Dhruv Kapoor who was awarded as the Vogue India Fashion Fund 2015 in Delhi.
