Nachiket Barve who established himself in the fashion industry, on completing 10 years shares a special message for the aspiring ones.

In a candid chat with the designer at the Woolmark Runway event, held in Mumbai where he was one of the judges at the jury panel, not only did he applaud the young talent but also highlighted a road map to the trends and the upcoming designers.
“Be authentic, stick to your own aesthetic style, be true to yourself” addressed the designer to the aspiring ones.

When asked about the difference in the trend between Mumbai and Delhi he commented, “I don’t think there is any difference in trends of cities. They all are same.

Merino wool is a very interesting material to play with. The way the students have used it is very exciting and unique in its own way.

On asking about why it’s very difficult to see Mumbai designers experiment with wool, he said, “Merino wool can be used for all types of seasons and also nowadays there is a lot of travel associated with work, so its demand is increasing. It’s great for the new shoppoholics.”

Nachiket launched his label at Lakme Fashion Week in Mumbai in March, 2007. Nachiket’s designs are inspired by his travels, science, nature and functionality.

We wish the designer many more years of success.
