EXCLUSIVE: Bollywood’s 5 friendship-based love movies to look forward to in 2022!

With so much slapstick and adult humor content accessible in the form of web series and movies these days, it’s hard not to yearn for a feel-good film to break up the monotony. A Bollywood ‘friendship movie’ is one genre that can help you do just that. The beauty of this genre is that it is easy-going, feel-good, snack-able entertainment that is nevertheless deep in its own way. For those who enjoy such films (and who doesn’t? ), 2022 will be a real pleasure! Here are five films to keep an eye on this year in this genre.

1. Kho Gaye Hum Kahan
Excel Entertainment’s next film, ‘Kho Gaye Hum Kahan,’ starring Ananya Panday, Siddhant Chaturvedi, and Adarsh Gourav, will be released this year as well and will explore the numerous dimensions of friendship. “Find your Friends and you won’t need followers,” the film’s theme stated. In terms of human relationships, it will also touch on reconnecting with the lost aspects of life. All we can say is that we are quite excited about this one!

2. Homecoming
A musical film centred on youth set in Kolkata, the city of joy. This film follows a group of college friends who reunite in their hometown after a lengthy absence to prevent their ancient theatre training school and academy from being razed due to the state’s ambitious commercialization aspirations. Sayani Gupta, Hussain Dalal, Tushar Pandey, Plabita Borthakur, and Soham Majumdar are among the film’s notable cast members. Soumyajit Majumdar directed it, and it will premiere on Sony Liv soon!

3. Jee Le Zaraa
Jee Le Zaraa is an upcoming Bollywood film that will put Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif, and Alia Bhatt together for the first time on the big screen. Farhan Akhtar, who actually gave birth to this genre with his cult masterpiece Dil Chahata Hai in 2001, is directing the film. Although we don’t know much about the plot of this film, we do know that it will be a film about three women in different stages of their lives who become friends. That being said, we are very much looking forward to this one!

4. The Intern
The plot follows a 70-year-old man (Amitabh Bachchan) who is looking to get back into the corporate world and takes up a position as a senior intern at an online fashion site. He quickly gains popularity among his younger coworkers, including his boss (Deepika Padukone), who also happens to be the company’s founder. His charisma, wisdom, and sense of humour are all explored in the film, and they finally help him form a particular rapport and growing friendship with his boss. This film is an official remake of the 2015 film ‘The Intern,’ which was a box office smash in the United States. Well, we’re all hoping to see the ‘Piku’ magic reproduced here!

5. Fukrey 3
With the nation’s favourite buddy-comedy Bollywood movie franchise, Fukrey, Choocha and his ‘Jugaadu’ gang resume their pursuit for quick and easy money. The first film in the series became a cult classic almost immediately after its debut, and it appears that the filmmakers have only continued to improve the trajectory of these characters and the overall tale since then. The third instalment of this franchise has already begun filming, with a release date set for the second half of this year. Pulkit Samrat, Ali Fazal, Varun Sharma, Manjot Singh, Richa Chadha, and Pankaj Tripathi return as part of the original cast.
