Ekkees Topon Ki Salami Movie Review

Ekkees Topon Ki Salami Movie

After passing a big bang week with movies like Bang Bang and Haider, you have two movies hitting the theatres this Friday. One of these includes the – Ekkees Topon Ki Salami. It is directed by Ravindra Gautam and produced by Anurradha Prasad along with Abhinav Shukla, which comes under the banner of Nautanki Films. The lead characters in the movie include Anupam Kher, Divyendu Sharma, Neha Dhupia, Manu Rishi, Aditi Sharma and Rajesh Sharma. The music for the film is composed by Ram Sampath. Ekkees Toppon Ki Salaami is considered to be a low budget movie considering the fact that the film has low star value due to the presence of all the novices in it except the few. The story comes from Rahil Khan for this film.

Let us check the plot of the movie. Purushotam Narayan Joshi played by Anupam Kher is an honest man who lives with dignity all his life. Amidst his simple and honest life, he has hardly received the honour and respect, which he deserved, and at one point of time, he is even ridiculed and humiliated for no big reason. Taking this as a challenge, he demands his two sons to get him the world biggest and the ultimate sign of respect called Ekkees Toppon Ki Salaami or the 21 Gun Salute. His two sons – Subhash Joshi (Divyendu Sharma) and Shekhar Joshi (Manu Joshi) pledge to their father that they would make his dream come true. Therefore, amidst all fun, humour and thrill, you see these sons leaving no stone unturned to make their father’s wish come true. However, with all their efforts, will these sons are able to succeed or not would be interesting to catch in the movie.

Anurradha Prasad, again is a new man in the job of director since Ekkees Toppon Ki Salaami is his debut directorial project. Though he has ample amount of experience in smaller screens, however, the two screens (small and silver) differ in many ways. Hence, if you look this man in this spectrum, he may not be called as an odd man out either for this task. He has tried to keep the tone and flow of the movie consistent by adding all the elements like laughter, thrill and fun apart from showcasing the father and son relationship nicely in the movie. Therefore, by and large, he was good in his debut directorial assignment and would certainly be counted later in the bigwigs of B Town provided he gets the opportunity to make such movies.

Now, let us talk about the actors in the movie. Talking about Divyendu Sharma, he is ironically a man with great talents but little bit exposed in the industry. Yes, the roles he is assigned, he sees to it that he does justice to the same. Though humour suits him the most, but even he is par in playing the emotional roles especially the one when he loses his father in the film is remarkable. Well, if you remember the character of Liquid in Pyaar Ka Punchnama, it won’t be difficult to analyze his talent and performance in any movie. In other words, he was outstanding in his performance in this movie as well in the character of an obedient son. Well, talking about Aditi Sharma and Manu Rishi, they too fall under the same category. They are new and talented but failed to do big banner movies, however, the former actor had much roles in different movies as compared to the latter.

Well Aditi Sharma was good in her role of Tanya, or rather can be called as an impressive one. Similarly, Manu Rishi too was awesome in his character, who in turn still waits for a big break. Perhaps with this movie, and such an incredible performance, he can expect applauds for the same. Above all, Anupam Kher as an honest man and simple father has been incredible as always. Thanks to his immense amount of experience in theatre and acting, he has overshadowed everyone. Neha Dhupia in her character of an out of work actress was okay and perhaps has her presence to add certain heat in the movie, while Rajesh Sharma as a politician too did a decent job as always doing justice to the character. The songs of the film has been in the media, with few doing top over the chartbuster, while others have performed average. Overall the music is okay, but cannot be called as par to the other blockbuster movies.

Last word Ekkees Topon Ki Salami Review :

You can find Ekkees Toppon Ki Salaami to be a political satire wherein a man with all his integrity is not honoured and appreciated by his bosses and other at the higher level. And such movies have been applauded in the past be it the case of of Kya Dilli Kya Lahore, Phas Gaya Re Obama or Bhoothnath Returns. So, if you are keen to catch up a satire with humour, fun and lots of thrill, this movie can be a must watch for you. Or else if you just want to enjoy plain humor want to get the glimpse of Liquid, catching up this movie is not a bad deal. Considering a good and different plot with power packed performance of the lead actors in the movie, the rating of 3.5 can justify.
