With the Coronavirus outbreak, the Irrfan Khan and Radhika Madan starrer film Angrezi Medium were able to release in limited theaters all across the country. With few states shutting down their theatres, the film had a bad weekend. Yet the makers are calling it a decent footfall this weekend. With 2.75 Crores on the first day, the movie witnessed a bit of increase in its collection on the first Saturday and Sunday together giving a meager collection on the first weekend.
The collection went to around 3 Crores per day – Saturday and Sunday. The film could have done better at the box office had there been no virus outbreak. With the family-friendly content, the film has gained good reviews and perfect for the audience to catch the film like its prequel but with the ongoing problem, things did not work. As per reports, the 1st-weekend box office collection for Angrezi Medium went to around 10.5 Crores.
So, when compared to its prequel Hindi Mediu, all we could see was a low collection, which bagged around 12.56 Crores. The first week had scored around 25.21 Crores in the first week, which with the present conditions, Angrezi Medium is likely to have a low collection. Such a good film but it did hit hard with its collection going down. The film was badly hit both at the single and multiplex screens. In fact, it was lesser on the former screens.
