“Visuals can be deceptive”, the tagline itself notifies the nature of Drishyam and if you are keen to watch some meaty performances in a content-driven thriller, wrapped in family drama, this is it. The much-awaited release of the year will move to theaters on 31st July, 2015. Remake of the blockbuster Malyalam movie by the same name, the Ajay Devgan starrer also features the talented Tabualong with veteran Rajat Kapoor. Produced by Panorma Studios and Viacom 18 Motion Pictures, it has been directed by Nishikant kamat and written by Upendra Sidhaye.
The Drishyam story revolves around Ajay Devgan, a cable TV operator in Goa who is leading a happy life with his wife Shriya Saran and two daughters until they undertake a nature camp. The eldest daughter is filmed in the bathroom by a hidden camera and when the blackmailer confronts the mother-daughter duo, he is accidentally killed. Ajay manages to dispose the body but police gets whiff of the incident. The dead blackmailer happens to be the son ofTabu, the inspector general of police and now she is intent to nail the culprits. Will Ajay be able to save his family? What will the cop do? Which way will the law turn?
To unravel the mystery, you will have to wait till end of July. Apart from the promising plot and gripping story, the film also offers great melody as the prodigious Vishal Bharadwaj is lending music to the tracks. Touted to be one of the excellent movies of the year, it also happens to be the first release of Ajay in 2015, where we will see him returning to his forte- real intense acting. And with Tabu in tow, one can only look forward to breathtaking performances.
