Drishyam 2 box office collection: Ajay Devgn’s film enters 200 cr club
Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam 2 is only the third Hindi film this year—following The Kashmir Files and Brahmastra—has made more than Rs 200 cr at the domestic box office. Drishyam 2 stars Ajay Devgn and Tabu.
Drishyam 2, which debuted on November 18, outperformed two other Bollywood films, including the action picture An Action Hero, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Jaideep Ahalawat, and the comedy-thriller Bhediya, starring Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon. The thriller earned Rs 4.67 crore on its fourth Saturday, raising its total box office receipts to a solid Rs 203.58 crore.
Drishyam 2 performed better than well-known Bollywood films like Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Gangubai Kathiawadi, and The Kashmir Files on their opening weekends, according to the uninformed. It might also be one of the highest-grossing Hindi films of 2022.
Drishyam 2 saw the return of Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutta, Mrunal Jadhav, Rajat Kapoor, and Tabu in their respective roles from the previous thriller. The new addition to the film is the actor Akshaye Khanna, who plays a police officer. The story of Vijay Salgaonkar (Ajay), a cable operator whose life revolves around movies and his family, which includes wife Nandini (Shriya Saran) and daughters Anju and Anu, is told in the movie Drishyam and Drishyam 2. Tabu plays IG Meera Deshmukh in the film. In the movie Drishyam, Ajay portrayed Vijay Salgaonkar, a man who gives his life to protect his family when his daughter accidently kills a young kid.
The film is a remake of the well-liked Malayalam original of the same name, which starred Mohanlal.
