Diwali 2022: Shocking! This biggest festival is not celebrated at some places in India. Know the reason behind it

Diwali 2022 is here and everyone is excited to celebrate the most loved festival in our country. From teens to senior citizens, people enjoy fireworks, and sweets, and worship the goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesh. Every year people eagerly wait for the festival of lights and celebrate it with great enthusiasm. Besides this, people light lamps in their homes and temples. Apart from India, Diwali is also celebrated in different countries of the world.

But there are many places in our country where this festival is not celebrated. In these places, people do not even worship Lord Ganesha and goddess Lakshmi on the day of Diwali, nor do they burn firecrackers. Shocking, right? But, it’s true!

Let us tell you why Diwali, the festival of lights, is not celebrated in some places of India and the reason behind it.

Diwali 2022: The festival is not celebrated in THESE places

People in the Indian state of Kerala do not celebrate Diwali. It is only celebrated in the city of Kochi there. You must be wondering why people do not celebrate Diwali in this state.

Actually, it is believed that King Mahabali of Kerala died on the day of Diwali. Because of this, Diwali is not celebrated here since then. Another reason behind not celebrating Diwali in Kerala is also that there are very few people of the Hindu religion. We have also heard that it rains in the state at this time due to which crackers and diyas do not light.

In Tamil Nadu also, Diwali is not celebrated in some places. People there celebrate the festival of Narak Chaturdashi with great grandeur. It is believed that Lord Krishna killed the demon Narakasura on the Chaturdashi of Krishna Paksha of Kartik month. This day is celebrated as Choti Diwali.
