After kicking off production in Mumbai, the team will move to Punjab for a crucial segment of filming. According to a report by Hindustan Times, a source revealed, “The first shooting schedule was in Mumbai, but Ajay had to head to the UK for Son of Sardar 2. R Madhavan, Rakul, and Ajay will film in Punjab for a while before returning to Mumbai for the next schedule in October.” The Punjab shoot is expected to last between 15 and 20 days, starting in mid-September.In an exciting casting update, R Madhavan will portray Rakul Preet Singh’s father in De De Pyaar De 2. Sources indicate that his character will engage in several humorous exchanges with Ajay Devgn’s character, Ashish. The film will explore family dynamics, with many scenes shot in traditional and homely settings across Punjab.

“The scenes in Punjab will primarily be set inside a bungalow and around the farms, aiming to showcase the state’s beauty while highlighting family interactions,” an insider shared. The production team is working diligently to ensure filming wraps up by the end of the year.While the first film was directed by Akiv Ali, De De Pyaar De 2 will be directed by Anshul Sharma. Sharma plans to maintain the chemistry between Rakul Preet and Ajay Devgn from the original while introducing fresh elements to the storyline. The source also hinted at a surprise cast addition, possibly a cameo that the creators are keeping under wraps. The team aims to finish shooting by the end of the year, with a release planned for May next year.
