It was on 20th October 1995 when the film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge was released. Since then it has been 25 long years to see the film hitting the screens. The movie has become a cult and fondly called DDLJ. The film gave Aditya Chopra a debut in film direction and a big career change for Shah Rukh Khan getting him the tag of King of Romance. Now, we hear that the film is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a big buzz.
And going for its celebration for the 25th anniversary, DDLJ happens to be soon re-released in theatres all across the world. As per Mr. Nelson D’Souza (Associate Vice President – International Distribution) the film has gained a good buzz around the world with its content and is still loved by everyone. He announced about the same and said that he is excited to extend this film to the Indian and non Indian diaspora present in the world to catch it in the big screens.
The film will be released in countries like UAE, Germany, Qatar, UK, USA, Mauritius, Canada, Fiji, Switzerland, Finland, Estonia and Spain to begin with. The film was made with a budget of four crores and it bagged 89 crores in India and 13.50 Crores in overseas. With this the collection for the film was 102.50 crores in the same year. So far the film has collected around 455 Crores in India and overseas to be around 69 Crores. The total was staggering with the collection reaching to 524 Crores at the box office.
