This may be bad news for the Bollywood, which seems to be badly affected by the fatal virus, but on the other side, the OTT channels are the ones that seem to be leveraging the most.
Thus amidst the widespread of the COVID 19 virus scare, the people have no other option but to check over the options for entertainment available on the web. All thanks to the multiplexes and malls being closed, people have no option but to rely on home-based entertainment options. They are now relying more on OTT channels including ZEE5, Netflix, Voot and MX Player to name a few.
The OTT channels remain the major player these days for the audience to rely on. As per reports, the jump seems to have gone up with the content via Smart TVs rather than mobile phones. The reports suggest that the jump for the OTT channels has witnessed around 10 per cent of traffic increase, while for the TV it is reported with 5%. On the other side, there are reports that the body called Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) has asked all the major platforms including Netflix, ZEE5, sizzlingstar and YouTube and others to stream in SD (Standard Definition) instead of HD (High Definition) as it is hampering the internet speed.
