A.R. Rahman composes exhilarating, thumping rap for ‘PS Anthem’
A.R. Rahman has astonished everyone by releasing an electrifying new music called ‘PS Anthem’, which he composed for Mani Ratnam’s epic historical action drama ‘Ponniyin Selvan 2’ (PS 2). The most shocking aspect of this freshly released single is the thundering rap done by A.R. Rahman himself.
A.R. Rahman sang the Tamil version of the new thumping single, and Arijit Singh, Benny Dayal, and Nabyla Maan have sung the Hindi version. Gulzar penned the Hindi lyrics of PS Anthem which perfectly combines melody and rap. This new single will undoubtedly surprise fans because it has a distinct flavour than the rest of the album.
Ponniyin Selvan 2 is one of the most anticipated films of the year, due for a worldwide release on April 28. The makers are also leaving no stone unturned in creating a massive buzz around the sequel, and this new ‘PS Anthem’ is part of that effort.

‘PS 2’ features Karthi, Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Trisha, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, R. Sarathkumar, Vikram Prabhu, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Rahman and R Parthiban, among many others.
The film, directed by Mani Ratnam, is based on Kalki Krishnamurthy’s iconic Tamil novel of the same name. Ponniyin Selvan’s first installment was released in September 2022 and was warmly accepted by the audience. The film grossed more than Rs. 500 crores at the box office worldwide.
