Check out these herbal, natural, and ayurvedic remedies for skin and hair

The human body is a perfect example of the amalgamation of all the elements of nature and these elements are what it needs to maintain the luster of the valuable instrument, which is the human body itself.

Amidst the growing pace of life, it has become increasingly difficult to cope with the rapidly rising ailments pertaining to the body. The ever-increasing levels of air pollution and water contamination are adding to the woes of civilization when it comes to the most exposed body parts, namely hair and skin. Also, lifestyle has a major role to play in the maintenance of the body.

Hair and skin are the parts of the human body that react the fastest to external agents and get damaged. Exempli Gratia, issues such as hair fall, skin pigmentation, rashes, and scalp damage are some common ailments that people face these days.

But Nature itself is there to the rescue!

Just as the saying goes “To each, his own”, there are plenty of methods and nuances that one can apply to get rid of hair and skin-related problems.

However, the most popular methods are herbal, ayurvedic, and natural.
Before diving into the remedies themselves, let us make acquaintance with the methods first.
The herbal methodology refers to the usage of plants with savory and aromatic properties for medicinal purposes.

The ayurvedic methodology deals with therapies based on complex herbal compounds, minerals and metal substances.

The natural technique, also known as naturopathy, involves alternative medicines, acupuncture, homeopathy, and lifestyle changes to cure.

Simply put, the above-mentioned techniques put to use the naturally available resources and the body’s own potential to cure or eradicate any ailments.

Let’s have a look at some tips.

Herbal:

1) Onion Juice: For hair growth

Apply onion juice on the scalp and rinse it off with shampoo after 10-15 minutes. Potato juice works equally good.

2) Coconut milk: For hair fall prevention.

Add a generous squeeze of lemon and 4-5 drops of lavender oil to some fresh coconut milk and make a mixture. Apply it on the scalp and rinse off after 4-5 hours.

3) Homemade egg mask: For damage repair to hair and skin.

Add one teaspoon of olive oil/lavender oil to one egg white to make a paste. Apply on scalp and face for 20 mins and rinse off with shampoo. Egg mask works miracles as it has high levels of proteins.

Ayurvedic:

1) Methi (Fenugreek): To eliminate dandruff.

Grind 2 tbsp of roasted methi and add water to make a thick paste. Apply it on the scalp and rinse off with shampoo after 20 minutes.

2) Aloe vera: Boosting scalp and skin health.

Combine 1/2 cup pure aloe vera gel, 3 tbsp coconut oil, and 2 tbsp honey to get a consistent mixture. Apply it on the skin and scalp and rinse it off with lukewarm water after 30 mins.

3) Homemade beauty pack: For glowing and relaxed skin.

Mix 2 tbsp besan, sandalwood powder, turmeric powder, and camphor to make a thick paste and apply on your face. Rinse after 20 minutes.

Naturopathy :

1) Natural moisturizer:

Mix 1/4 cup of milk with 2 tbsp sugar and gently apply the mixture on the face and neck with the help of cotton. Rinse after a while. This moisturizes the skin and brings back the glow.

2) Green tea:

Consuming green tea supplies the body with anti-oxidants that protects the skin from premature aging signs. Also, the application of used green tea leaves to the scalp soothes itching and dandruff issues.

3) Mud:

Yes, mud consists of numerous minerals which are beneficial for both skin and hair. The application of mud packs, and walking barefoot on mud will restore the skin’s health to a great extent. It also has essential psychological effects.

4) Yoga:

Yoga targets the entire psychological and physiological metabolism of the body and is much essential for well-being.
