Veerappan, Phobia, Waiting & Fredrick Box Office Predictions
With just one film releasing last Friday in the form of Sarabjit, this week is comparatively busier than the previous. This Friday you have four films releasing the same day including Veerappan, Phobia, Waiting and Fredrick. Interestingly, the three films out of the four are titled in English. Looking at the promotion, star cast and other elements, these films belong to be in the bracket of average movies. Now, let’s start with Veerappan.
This film is the Ram Gopal Varma, which is the second in the series made on this dreaded criminal followed by Killing Veerappan. The film though has been promoted very well and even it has managed to get decent reviews than the previous of the Ram Gopal Varma’s film yet it is doubtful to be a good grocer over the box office. As per the buzz and market experts, the film is likely to get only a meager figure, which is likely to exceed the one crore mark on the first day. However, the film is likely to do better, provided if it manages to collect a decent word of mouth buzz in the media. In fact, his film would likely to do better in the south Indian state with its Kannada original version.
Hence the movie may not have the audience base from the global level, yet it has the potential to do better over the box office. Thanks to the huge amount of audience base present in the south, which will make the difference at least if we talk in the perspective of south Indian audience. Let’s talk about the next film called Phobia having Radhika Apte at the center. The film has been decently promoted in the media, yet happens to be a niche audience film targeting only at the multiplexes rather much over the single screens. The USP of the film simply lies in being innovative and unique. Though there isn’t much probability of gaining loads over the box office, yet it has the potential to impress the audience. One can expect a figure of one crore figure on the day one at box office.
Next film Waiting starring Naseeruddin Shah and Kalki Koechlin can be called as an urban audience based film, which is restricted to the release for itself. However, the problem of the film is that the makers failed to promote it the way it deserved. The film has managed to get good reviews from the critics but would fail to garner a decent figure at box office only due to its low intensity promotion. Lastly, talking about the film Fredrick, the film has hardly any buzz in the audience and hence it would be seen struggling over the Pan India basis.
