Here are five hard-hitting movies of Ayushmann Khurrana that broke societal stereotypes!

Ayushmann Khurrana has it all, he can sing, dance, act and he is totally literature driven. The actor was born in Chandigarh and has paved his own way in the Hindi Film industry. During his college days, the actor was doing theatres, and it was after that when he came up with ‘ Pani Da’ and won MTV Roadies. His movies are always out of the box, here are five films, which are the perfect example that Ayushmann is very selective of the scripts of his films. And is known for the quality of movies he chooses to do.

Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui:

Ayushmann Khurrana’s Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui is totally out of the box. The movie revolves around an important social message based on the life of Transgenders. The plot of the movie breaks the stereotypes of society. Director Abhishek Kapoor’s brilliant direction has perfectly explained the hurdles transgenders have to face in our society. Plus Vaani Kapoor has done full justice to her character.

Dum Laga Ke Haisha:

We have always heard Love comes in all sizes and shapes, but Ayushmann proved it through this movie. From Ayushmann’s struggles to accept bhumi as his wife because she is overweight then him to finally falling in love for the person she is. The perfect depiction of acceptance is brilliantly portrayed.

Vicky Donor:

He became a household name after Shoojit Sircar’s Vicky Donor. The movie revolved around the awareness of Male Infertility and Sperm Donation which was considered as taboo. And after that, there’s no looking back for him, after that he has been choosing some extraordinary scripts which genuinely make sense. While Bollywood was still portraying love stories, Ayushmaan chose to do movies that revolved around the societal taboos of our country.

Shubh Mangalam Savdhaan:

Be it Shubh Mangalam Savdhaan, where he essayed a role of the partner where he discovers an erectile dysfunction. And in the entire film was a perfect scenario of every Indian household where such men are directly given impotent tags. The movie was a great source of information and entertainment. The second part of the same film Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan revolved around the story of Gay couple. The movie shows their attempt to convince their parents. How These 2 boys struggle and stand still for their ‘Love’.

Badhaai Ho:

Then his one of the biggest hits Badhaai Ho which is a mass entertainer with a social message. The film didn’t touch upon but went deep into a subject, none of the Bollywood movies has gone before. The film revolves around a couple in their 50’s who ends up having an unplanned pregnancy.  And they have two grown up sons and that is why they feel all the more awkward of breaking the news to the family about the arrival of a new member in the family. “ Samaj Kya kahega “ , “ Log Kya kahenge “ is what bothers them more.
