Minimum 2 Shows in Single Screens, 5 Shows in 2-Screen Cinemas, 6 Shows in 3-Screen Multiplexes — Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri Release Strategy Revealed

With just two days to go before the release of Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, starring Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday, excitement is steadily building thanks to its fresh appeal, youthful vibe, catchy music, and popular cast. Advance bookings began over the weekend, and Bollywood Hungama brings you details about the film’s screening demands put forth by Dharma Productions’ in-house distribution team for single screens and multiplexes.
A trade source shared, “The Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri team is fully aware that Dhurandhar continues to dominate the Christmas box office with a massive audience. They also recognize that Avatar: Fire and Ash has secured many shows and screens. Given this, the team has requested a fair and modest showcasing, keeping the real market scenario in mind.”The source added, “For single-screen theatres, the distribution team has requested a minimum of 2 shows daily. In 2-screen cinemas, they have asked for 5 shows. Multiplexes with 3, 4, 5, and 6 screens are expected to play 6, 8, 12, and 14 shows per day respectively.
For multiplexes with 7 or more screens, the film’s team has sought at least 16 shows daily. These are the minimum show counts requested.”However, the source revealed, “Despite these reasonable demands, the team is struggling to secure the desired number of shows. As of 9:00 AM on December 23, only multiplexes with 4 or more screens have started ticket bookings, and even then, only on one screen. Single screens and 2- and 3-screen cinemas have yet to open bookings as negotiations are ongoing. Fortunately, Avatar: Fire and Ash was not released in single screens, so those theatres only need to split shows between Dhurandhar and the rom-com.
But this remains challenging since Dhurandhar’s demand shows no signs of waning even after 18 days. Plus, both Dhurandhar and Avatar: Fire and Ash run over three hours, making it tough for multiplexes to divide shows among the three films.”An industry insider remarked, “We’ve often seen distributors push cinemas for 100% showcasing of their films. Considering that, credit goes to Karan Johar and his team for being reasonable and practical, not demanding an excessive number of shows. With Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri featuring a rising star like Kartik Aaryan and belonging to a popular genre, we hope cinemas give this film a fair chance.”
