Casting Director Avani Soni Is The Inspiration Who Changed People’s Perception About Women Working In The Film Industry!
Films are by far the best source of entertainment in India and now it is not just Bollywood but the regional cinema which has made its way among the audiences. Dhollywood, formally known as Gujarati cinema has been getting the right exposure for its content. Many talents have been discovered in Gujarat who has proved their mettle as actors. The name behind these artists is none other than Avani Soni, a casting director who hails from Ahmedabad. Beginning her career at the age of 22 in the entertainment industry, she has worked with many celebrities from Gujarati cinema as well as the telly world.
Before getting into casting, Avani was into the corporate sector. After doing the mainstream 9 to 5 job, she realized her calling for creativity. She explored the entertainment industry and tried her luck as a casting director in Gujarat. Some of her films where she has worked include ‘Tamburo’ (2017) and ‘Chhutti Jashe Chhakka’ (2018). Today, Avani owns FATC Entertainment which was founded in 2011. With being a casting coordinator, Soni has now explored several different fields out of which one is talent management. She has been managing some of the well-known talents of Gujarat as she believes to give chances to the artists who are deserving and have the talent of acting.
While her father wanted Avani to become a journalist, she chose a completely different path. Many people even suggested to her that girls are meant for doing household works and mainstream and not work in the film industry. However, she changed the thought process of the people that girls from a small town can establish themselves in the entertainment world. Today Soni has proved her worth as one of the finest names in Dhollywood and the statement, ‘girls can’t make their name in the film industry’ inspired her to become what she is today. On the work front, Avani Soni is working on a lot of projects and soon she will be producing a film under her father’s banner and we are really excited about it.
