Breaking: 3 Films are Expected to get Direct Release on Netflix in July
With the current COVID 19 lockdown, things have been bad to worse for the filmmakers. The chances to see the films getting a theatrical release seems to be difficult in the current situation, hence they are seen taking resort on the digital platforms. Although we see the exhibitors adding pressure on the authorities to allow them to open the theatres, it seems that it can only start functioning from the month of September. They have already got the jolt as an increasing number of filmmakers are opting for OTT platforms to release their films.
With the current grim situation, we now see an added number of films to release on streaming giants like Netflix. As per Bollywood Hungama reports, this July one can expect three more films to release on the streaming giant – Netflix. Let’s check these three films as under:Â
Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare – The first film to release on Netflix probably on 16th July is Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare starring Bhumi Pednekar and Konkona Sen Sharma. It is directed by Alankrita Shrivastava, the 2017 Lipstick Under My Burkha fame filmmaker.
Indu Ki Jawani – The other expected film to release on Netflix is Indu Ki Jawani starring Kiara Advani and Aditya Seal. It is a Nikhil Advani movie dealing with a Ghaziabad based feisty girl who has some bizarre experiences on a dating app which leads to comedy of errors. This is Kiara’s second film on Netflix after Guilty released in March.Â
Ludo – The next include Ludo having ensemble star cast Rajkummar Rao, Abhishek Bachchan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sanya Malhotra, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Pankaj Tripathi. It will be a Life In A… Metro kind of film with Anurag Basu as its director.
