Box Office Collection: Ram Setu is going well, Thank God struggling to stand still
Ram Setu has reportedly become the biggest 2022 opening for an Akshay Kumar film. The film has taken a start of Rs. 15.50 crores* in a year full of unpredictability, when many calculations and predictions have gone to the wind. It has also surpassed Bachchhan Paandey’s opening day numbers of Rs. 13.25 crores, making it Akshay Kumar’s best of the year.
From here, the film should be able to sustain itself today and tomorrow, setting the stage for further growth over the weekend. The Abhishek Sharma-directed film has received favourable to favourable reviews, and the good news is that no one has objected to it. In such a scenario, there is always a good chance that a film will have sustained collections, which Ram Setu would also like to achieve.
According to early entertainment news estimates in the trade and our box office tracking, Thank God is expected to open at 8.10 crore nett, but could end up even higher once the final numbers are in. The Indra Kumar-directed film saw all-India occupancy in the 20-25% range for morning shows and then picked up, which, as previously stated, was not expected given the state of advance booking. The Ajay Devgn, Sidharth Malhotra, and Rakul Preet Singh starrer then maintained a steady run throughout the day, with no territory breaking free like Ram Setu did in UP, MP, Bihar, Gujarat, and Rajasthan, but business being fairly evenly distributed across the board.
Meanwhile, after six days in theatres, Black Adam has collected Rs 32.50 crore*, putting it in first place among other releases.
