Why Bombay Velvet’s release is pushed ahead to next year ?

Anushka Sharma and Ranbir Kapoor in Bombay-Velvet

You can certainly call Bombay Velvet movie to be a magnum opus of Anurag Kashyap considering some of the best scripts and people involved in it. This is a period drama, which comprises of Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma in the main leads. Ranbir is playing the character of street fighter who goes to become manager of a known jazz club in the city with the same name. Initially, the movie was supposed to hit the theaters in November, however, as per the filmmakers, the release date is pushed to May 2015.

The reasons lays in between the climax of the movie, which didn’t satisfy the director nor the actor RK. The VFX effects the movie is taking much more time to get the right effects. Since the movie deals with showcasing bygone era, which has failed to get the right gleam it deserves that has become the cause of the delay. Indeed the making of such a big time movie has given lots of lessons, which the director Anurag Kashyap has learnt a lot about them. The Mumbai you would see in this movie would be very much different, which people had been finding so far or seen in the past. Also, the other reason of delay is the incomplete background music as well, which is still pending for recording.

According to the sources, RK is also not satisfied about the movie and wants certain major portions to be recreated. Ranbir has confirmed the same before the media and said that he really salutes the director for embarking with an incredible movie. Any hasty job can cost them dearly, hence the delay is very much inevitable. Earlier the movie was supposed to hit this Christmas but considering the Raju Hirani movie called PK scheduled to embark at the same time, the movie was to release a bit early in November 14.
