This Friday, you have a solo release, which comes under the form of Bombay Velvet. It is considered to be magna opus of its director- Anurag Kashyap. The film has been into discussion since it was amidst its making. Right from revolving around a couple of controversies to seeing a couple of delays in its release, the movie has finally hit the theatres this Friday. The film has one of the interesting star casts, which include Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma.
However, looking in the morning and afternoon buzz, the film witnessed a dull occupancy for the morning shows.
As per reports, the occupancy was seen around 15 to 20 percent in the morning shows, which remained somewhere close for the afternoon shows as well. Both multiplexes and single screen theatres seemed similar in terms of trend. Nevertheless, the latter comes with neater results. In the evening, the occupancies were witnessed a smarter escalation.
Thanks to the press release buzz and the word of mouth hype the film could create in the morning and evening shows. However, if you compare the film’s budget with the occupancy at day one, it doesn’t seem to be very much promising. The trade pundits are expecting a decent collection by the end of the weekend, especially the multiplexes considering the fact that it’s a metro niche film. The single screens are likely to do poor business for obvious reasons. Well, as per reports, the first-day collection of Bombay Velvet tolled to around 7 crores.
