The trend of sequels has not been over yet and a new trend “Biopic” has made its way into the film industry. Perhaps the super se bhi upar success of Bhag Milkha Bhag which was based on the life of Flying Sikh and also with the success of movie Shahid based on the life of slain human right activist Shahid Azmi, the Biopics have become the season’s Flavour. After the announcement of movies on Mary Kom, P C Sorcar, it’s now the turn of Kisan Baburao Hazare to shine on the silver screen. Wait!!! You are wondering who the heck this Kisan Baburao Hazare is; did the surname ring a bell??? Yes, it’s our very own Anna Hazare whose life is going to be enacted on celluloid now.
The journey of becoming Anna Hazare from Kisan Baburao Hazare must be interesting &audiences would love taking the closer look at the life of the living legend on the 70 mm screen. His fight forJan Lokpal and anti-corruption made him an idol among the people.
Movie director Shashank Udapurkar has announced that he is going to make the biopic after receiving a formal consent from the living legend himself. Since it is very hard to present 75 years of Annaji’s life into a two and half hour film, it took him over and two and half years in drafting 7 scripts and finally finalizing one, says the director. “I want the film to not only inspire Indians but people from all over the world to know how a man hailing for a small village became a national hero with ethics, simplicity & love for country & mankind”, stated Shashank.
Produced by Anirudda S Gaikar, the movie would be shot in Ralegan Siddhi, Mumbai, Delhi, Ladakh, Rajasthan and various other places.
