Deepika Padukone’s film Chhapak is based on the life and experiences of Acid Attack Survivor Lakshmi Aggarwal, who is currently a TV show host and promoter of Stop Acid Attacks. Directed by Meghna Gulzar, the film stars Vikrant Massey and Deepika Padukone in pivotal roles.

This film narrates the story of Malti, an acid attack survivor, who fights society. When she refuses to marry one person, he pours acid on her and then she fights to start her life again.

Chhapak has been released in theaters. It is released on the big screen with Ajay Devgn’s ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’ starring Kajol and Saif Ali Khan.
