Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 Box Office Day 2: Kartik Aaryan Faces Off Against Singham Again and the Monday Drop – Will the Film Hold Strong?
Kartik Aaryan’s ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ is currently locked in a fierce box office battle with Rohit Shetty’s ‘Singham Again’, as both films vie for the attention of Diwali audiences. After an impressive opening on Friday with ₹35.5 crore, Aaryan’s horror-comedy sequel carried its momentum into Saturday, adding another ₹36.50 crore, according to Sacnilk. However, the true challenge lies ahead on Monday, when the Diwali festivities conclude and weekday trends will reveal the film’s endurance.
The stakes couldn’t be higher. ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ marks Aaryan’s biggest opening to date, fueled by nostalgia and his portrayal of Ruhaan Randhawa (Rooh Baba), a character he has made his own after stepping into the role once played by Akshay Kumar. In just two days, the film has raked in ₹72 crore domestically, but it faces tough competition as ‘Singham Again’ has already garnered ₹85 crore within the same timeframe, making it a challenge to maintain this upward trajectory.
Both films tap into the power of established franchises. ‘Singham Again’, part of Shetty’s Cop Universe, boasts high-octane action and special appearances from stars like Salman Khan and Tiger Shroff. Meanwhile, ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ leans on a mix of humor and thrills, featuring the return of Vidya Balan’s Manjulika alongside Madhuri Dixit and Triptii Dimri.
The Diwali holiday has proven beneficial for both films, with ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ reporting an impressive 75% occupancy and even midnight screenings selling out in cities like Mumbai. Industry analysts foresee a close race, especially since ‘Singham Again’ has secured 60% of the available screens compared to ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’s 40%.
Director Anees Bazmee remains upbeat about the situation. “I don’t see it as a clash,” he stated to ANI. “Both films provide unique experiences, and I hope for their success.” Aaryan’s box office appeal is evident, with his fee for ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ reportedly tripled following the success of its predecessor. Come Monday, all eyes will be on whether Aaryan’s horror-comedy can maintain its charm and if ‘Singham Again’ can sustain its lead.
