CBFC Grants U/A Certificate to ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’; Blurs 14 Seconds of Footage Across 3 Scenes and Reduces Visuals by 25% in a Scene

As we see Ajay Devgn’s eagerly anticipated movie, Maidaan, has been approved by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with a U/A certificate and no scenes removed. Today, we are sharing details about the censorship process of another Eid release, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. As per Bollywood Hungama, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan also received a U/A rating from the Examining Committee of the CBFC. Nonetheless, the committee asked the filmmakers to make certain adjustments. 14 seconds of footage were blurred across three different scenes. A scene around the 57-minute mark was shortened by 19 seconds, which equates to a 25% reduction.

Without further details, it’s unclear whether this scene contained violence or sensitive intimacy. In another instance, the name of a brand was substituted, but the specifics were not disclosed. A disclaimer was also added to a scene involving alcohol consumption. Finally, the filmmakers were required to provide a letter to the CBFC explaining the usage of symbols, signs, uniform code, and other elements related to the Armed Forces in their film.

Once these changes were implemented, the filmmakers of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan were awarded the censor certificate. The movie’s runtime, as noted on the certificate, is 164 minutes, or 2 hours and 44 minutes. It is set to release on Wednesday, April 10.

The stellar cast of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan includes Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Alaya F, and Manushi Chhillar, with a special appearance by Sonakshi Sinha. The film, directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, is presented by Pooja Entertainment and Ali Abbas Zafar Films and produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh, Ali Abbas Zafar, and Himanshu Kishan Mehra.
