Battle of Galwan Makers Eye June 2026 Release; Salman Khan’s Shoot to Wrap Up in December

The much-anticipated war drama Battle of Galwan, starring Salman Khan in a never-before-seen avatar, is gearing up for a possible release in June 2026. The film’s shooting, which began in September in Ladakh, is progressing well, with key action sequences already completed. According to reliable sources, the shoot is expected to wrap up by December, after which director Apoorva Lakhia will focus entirely on post-production.

Earlier reports had suggested a January or June 2026 release window for the film. However, insiders now confirm that a January release is no longer feasible, making June the frontrunner. The team is also exploring potential release dates in July or August, but June remains the most likely target. Salman Khan recently shared shirtless photos showcasing his impressive fitness, further fueling excitement among fans.

While Shah Rukh Khan’s recent teaser for King on his 60th birthday raised hopes that Battle of Galwan might have a special announcement or teaser on Salman’s 60th birthday on December 27, sources say no such plans have been confirmed yet. Alongside Salman Khan, who portrays Colonel Bikkumalla Santosh Babu, the film features Chitrangda Singh in a key role.

Battle of Galwan is based on a chapter from the book India’s Most Fearless 3 (2022) by Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh. Contrary to earlier rumors, director Apoorva Lakhia has clarified that Amitabh Bachchan will not be making a cameo appearance. With its gripping storyline and Salman Khan’s powerful portrayal, Battle of Galwan is shaping up to be one of 2026’s major cinematic events.
