Wiki – Bappi Lahiri was born as Alokesh Lahiri and is a music director in Bollywood. He simply popularized the use of synthesized disco music in Bollywood cinema while sang a number of his own compositions. These include Disco Dancer, Dance Dance, Namak Halaal, Commando, Sharabi and Gang Leader. As far as his early life is concerned, he was born and brought in Kolkata in a music rich family. Some of his relatives include Kishore Kumar and S Mukherjee. He started playing table when he was barely 3, while maternal relatives including Kishore Kumar and Mukherji guided him to reach the stardom. Most of his early training was carried out by his parents. He is married with two children wherein both his daughter and son are established as singer and music director respectively.

Bio – When he was 10 he headed to Bombay, while his debut movie is Nanha Shikari, which was released in the year 1973, however, he got recognition with the movie Zakhmee by Tahir Hussain in 1975. He even sang a duet with Mohd Rafi and Kishore da known as Nothing Is Impossible for the same title movie. Some of his earlier works include Chalte Chalte, Wardat, Sahhas, Laparwah, Pyara Dushman, etc. The songs like Hari Om Hari and the Ramba Ho Samba Ho song from Arman really helped him to carve his niche in the market. He then became synonymous to Mithun Chakraborty for all his disco movies and is among the first music director from India who was even awarded in China and Russia. Some of his famed works include Kasam Paida Karne Wale Ki 1984, Dance Dance 1987, Disco Dancer, Commando in 1988, Love Love Love in 1989 and Pyar Ke Naam Qurban in 1990.

Apart from composing music and singing songs in Bollywood movies he is also known for creating a buzz about Bollywood by creating Rock Dancing titled Rock Dancer and even was seen brining the dance sensation called Samantha Fox from the UK with Govinda. He is the only music director who was invited by Michael Jackson in Bombay while performing in the year 1996, while Jackson simply applauded his song Jimmy Jimmy. Besides, he was also invited for ITV London to perform at BBC in 1989, while he have sung a number of songs in different languages. He was also seen embarking with his own private albums, which include Mother of the Nation in the year 1998, which he dedicated for Mother Teresa that was blessed by Mother Teresa herself. In the year 1999 he was seen cutting the musical album with MC Hammer title known as “Will To Live” wherein singers like Asha Bhosle, Sharon Prabhakar, Rema Lahiri, Kumar Sanu, etc. were there and he released its CD in May 2011.
