Ayub Khan is more popular face over small screen than the Bollywood films. He is born and brought up in Mumbai in the prestigious family of Nasir Khan and Begum Para in the year 1965 on 2nd November. The veteran actor Dilip Kumar is his paternal uncle. As far as his personal life is concerned, he is married to his old time friend Niharika Khan who is a costume designer in Bollywood doing her debut with Rock On and then The Dirty Picture. The two have met during their college days. The two were secluded but later divorced their spouses to marry each other. He has done more than 20 different movies in Bollywood while acted in a number of TV serials as well. Besides, he also is seen in different commercial ads like Titan Eye, etc.

He started his career working in films in the B Town. His debut movie was Mashooq in the year 1992, which followed a couple of movies like Meri Aan, Salami, Sanjay, Khilona, etc. wherein he was seen in supporting role. Some of his popular movies include Dil Chahta Hai, Gangajal, Mela, Apaharan, LOC:Kargil, etc. while some of his recent movies include Yeh Dooriyan and Toh Baat Pakki. Apart from working in different movies, he also got the chance to work in different TV serials including Apharan, Trikon, Muskaan, Kasshish, Piya Bina, India Calling, etc, while some of his recent TV serials include Ek Hasina Thi, Ek Tha Rusty, Uttaran (2008–Present), Sajda Tere Pyaar Mein, Honge Judaa Naa Hum etc.

Though he has worked in different movies as supporting actor, but has failed to get any nomination or award. However, in smaller screens, he was able to bag a couple of awards, which include Zee Rishtey Awards, Zee Gold Awards and Apsara Awards for the TV serial Rakhi in 2007, while in 2010 he awarded with India Telly Awards, Indian Television Academy Award for the TV serial Uttaran under the category of Bet supporting male role. Similar in the year 2011 and 2012 he was awarded for Zee Gold Awards and Colors Golden Petal Awards under the Best Supporting Actor and Most popular actor award respectively. Currently, he is just doing a couple of TV serials including Uttaran, while he has no films at the moment.
