Avatar 2: Know some intriguing facts about James Cameron’s masterpiece

Avatar 2 is smashing box-office records and doing wonders at the national and international box office. This famous legendary sci-fi franchise written, produced, directed, and co-edited by filmmaker James Cameron is all set to cross the $300 crore mark in theatres. Known as a VFX-rich movie, its first part was nominated for nine Academy Awards for best film, director, visual effects, and many more.
Here are some interesting facts about Avatar 2 you may not know:
1. Avatar was released in 2009. After a 19-year wait, the second instalment, Avatar: The Way of Water, has finally been released. The sequel was announced immediately after the first part’s success. James Cameron delayed it to make sure that everything falls in place.

3. Kate Winslet has performed all her underwater stunts herself, defeating Tom Cruise, who did Mission: Impossible—Rogue Nation (2015). Kate’s underwater stunt lasted 7 minutes and 14 seconds, breaking the record.
4. The release date of Avatar 2 was planned for December 2021. However, it was pushed back due to the pandemic.
5. Weta Digital did around 3240 VFX shots for the film and 2225 out of them involved water. It is also reported that 57 new species of sea creatures were created for this film.
