Atul Kulkarni is not an unknown name in Bollywood. He is one of actors in B Town, who has tried different shades of character in Bollywood movies. He was born on 10th of September 1965 in Belgaum, Karnataka. He did his schooling from Haribhai Deokaran High School, Solapur, Maharashtra followed by his junior college from native place and later returned to this city to complete his degree in English Literature from DAV. He then headed to NSD (National School of Drama) since it was clear to his mind what he wanted to do in his life. As far as her personal life is concerned, he is married to Geetanjali Kulkarani who is also the actress and her batch mate at NSD.
Atul Kulkarni then headed to Mumbai to pursue his dreams of becoming an actor and with a brief struggle he got the chance to work in regional movie called Bhoomi Geeta released also in Hindi and Kannada. He then got the Marathi movie called Kairee. His first Hindi film was Hey Ram with Shah Rukh Khan wherein he played the character called Shriram Abhyankar, for which he got the National Award under the best supporting actor category. Since it was no looking back for him, in fact, his very next movie Chandani Bar wherein he played the character called Potya Sawant fetched him a national award for supporting actor category.
Some of his known movies in B Town include Dum, Khakhee, Page 3, Rang De Basanti, Yeh Mera India, Delhi 6, Dirty Politics. Besides, he is also a well known face in Marathi Cinema and did a couple of known Marathi movies as well, which include Happy Journey, Premachi Goshta, Popat, Natarang, Sukhaant, etc. While, he is also active in south Indian movies as well and has done a number of movies in languages like Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam, and English. His upcoming films include the Marathi movie called Rajwade and Sons and two Malayalam movies including Kanal and Nellikka. He will be also seen in Jazbaa along with Irrfan Khan and Aishwarya Rai. He has won a number of awards including both for the Bollywood movies and south Indian movies.
