Here comes the first look poster of the film called Partition 1947 which is based on the true story of the final days of British Raj in India. The film is directed by Gurinder Chadha’s Partition 1947 which is all set to release on 18th August in theaters near you. Interestingly, the film also coincides with the 70th anniversary of the I Day of India along with the foundation of Pakistan. Its been 300 years when the British came to India which lasted till Lord Mountbatten was given the charge of India to the people of the nation.

The film deals with the man called Gurinder and his entire family who seems to have caught in the tragic events during the last days of British Raj. The movie also brings out the events inside the great house showcasing the lives of the people like Lord Mountbatten, his wife and daughter. The film obviously talks about the partition that was carried out in the year 1947 via the perception of a marriage of Dickie and Edwina Mountbatten along with showcasing their romance between a young Hindu servant, Jeet, with his intended Muslim bride, Aalia.

The British star cast is played by Hugh Bonneville playing the character of Lord Mountbatten; while his wife’s role is played by Gillian Anderson and Lily Travers as their daughter, Pamela; and Michael Gambon and Simon Callow are seen the key civil servants. The Indian and Pakistani cast include Manish Dayal, Huma Qureshi, and late Om Puri. Time to catch the poster as under:
