AR Rahman’s Bassist Mohini Dey Addresses Linkup Rumors and Divorce Speculations: ‘I Know Exactly What It’s About

On Tuesday, AR Rahman shocked the nation by announcing his separation from his wife after 29 years of marriage. While their children have requested privacy and expressed support for their family, another divorce announcement from the musical maestro’s bassist, Mohini Dey, has added fuel to the speculation surrounding the situation. The timing of her announcement, coming shortly after AR Rahman’s revelation, has sparked considerable discussion among netizens.Mohini Dey, who has been a long-time collaborator with AR Rahman, coincidentally shared her divorce news on the same day, intensifying the rumors.
Following comments from the musician’s legal team earlier this week, Dey has now chosen to address the situation herself. After remaining silent for some time, she took to her Instagram story on Friday to clarify her position regarding the swirling rumors. She stated, “I’ve been receiving a huge number of requests for interviews, and I know exactly what they’re about. Therefore, I must respectfully decline each one because I refuse to engage with ABSOLUTE BS! My energy isn’t worth spending on RUMORS. Please respect my privacy. <3 Mo.”While AR Rahman has yet to comment on these developments, his son, A R Ameen, also took to Instagram to respond to the rumors, urging everyone to maintain dignity.

He wrote, “My father is a legend, not only for his extraordinary contributions but also for the values, respect, and love he has garnered over the years. It’s disheartening to see false and baseless rumors circulating. Let’s remember the importance of truth and respect when discussing someone’s life and legacy. Please refrain from engaging in or spreading misinformation. Let’s honor and preserve the dignity and incredible impact he has had on all of us.”

Lastly, AR Rahman’s legal team has addressed the rumors, stating, “There is no connection at all. Saira and Mr. Rahman made this decision independently,” as reported to Republic TV recently.
