Anushka Sharma has a special message for women in blue as India’s cricket team begin their World Cup

Anushka Sharma, who is filming Chakda Xpress, her first sports biopic, took to social media to express her support for the genuine ladies in blue. Anushka shared a snapshot of the team with words of determination and well wishes for the Indian women’s cricket team, who will face Pakistan today.

Taking to her Instagram Story, Anushka wrote on social media, “Give it up for the WOMEN IN BLUE! The entire nation is with you. Wishing you the best for a great World Cup!” Apart from Anushka, other Bollywood celebs like Farhan Akhtar and Taapsee Pannu also took to social media to shower good luck on the time.

Anushka Sharma has begun her preparation for her part as famed Indian fast bowler Jhulan Goswami in Chakda Xpress. She had shared a video of her bowling practise on social media a few days prior. With this film, Anushka returns to the big screen after her pregnancy, based on the life and times of India’s most decorated female cricketer, Jhulan. Jhulan holds the world record for the most wickets taken by a female cricketer in a single international career.

Earlier Anushka Sharma accompanied husband Virat Kohli on the pitch on Friday in Mohali, Punjab, for his 100th test match. India’s team. Their daughter Vamika, Virat’s mother, and Virat’s brother stood in the stands as veteran cricketer Rahul Dravid presented him with a ceremonial cap. The first of two test series between India and Sri Lanka has underway.
