Bollywood celebrities have always been around even during the troubled times. With the Amazon fire in Brazil really taking a lot, Bollywood celebrities are taking a step ahead praying for them. Famous celebrities including Anushka Sharma, Arjun Kapoor and Akshay Kumar did take onto their social media handle to highlight the condition of Brazil’s Amazon Rainforest.

On Wednesday, the global stream took on the perfect notice about the raging fire that has been troubling the Brazil’s Amazon rainforest for the past three weeks. Amazon forest is known as the planet’s lungs as they produce 20 percent of the Earth’s oxygen.

The fire has now grabbed the world’s attention and Bollywood cannot keep calm. Anushka Sharma, Arjun Kapoor, Ayushmann Khurrana, Akshay Kumar, Dia Mirza and Disha Patani were amongst the lead Bollywood actors who have taken onto their social media handles to highlight the condition of the Amazon Rainforest.

Here’s how Bollywood reacted on it:

“The Amazon rainforest has been burning for weeks and we are only just finding out about this!! This is such a scary news! Amazon forests are the lungs of this already suffering planet and they are on fire now! I wish this got more importance from world media!! #saveamazon,” Anushka posted on her Instagram story.

Arjun Kapoor, shared his Instagram story, “It’s scary how bad the fire at the Amazon Rainforest is!! I can’t even begin to imagine the impact this will have on the world environment. It is truly saddening. #PrayforAmazon.”

After seeing the heart-breaking and pretty alarming pictures of the Amazon rainforest Akshay wrote,” #SaveTheAmazon #PrayForTheAmazon.”

Taking onto Twitter, Ayushmann Khurrana wrote, “The lungs of our planet Earth have been burning for weeks!”

Disha Patani sharing the Hollywood actor Leonardo Dicaprio’s Instagram post, who is an environmentalist too, wrote, “Terrifying to think that the Amazon is the largest rain forest on the planet, creating 20 per cent of the earth’s oxygen, basically the lungs of the world, has been on fire and burning for the last 16 days running, with literally NO media coverage whatsoever! Why?”

Dia Mirza also shared her stressed post, writing, “Deniers of #ClimateChange we are being gutted by the fires caused by your denial! The Amazon forest, the lungs of our planet has been on fire for the last 16 days and more than 72000 fires have occurred already this year. When will world media give this more attention? #ClimateChangeIsReal #ActOnClimate #amazonia #amazonas.”

As per the National Institute for Space Research (a research unit of the Brazilian Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation), the number of fires in Brazil has simply doubled from 2013 to 2019.
