Sacred Games 2

Sacred Games 2 is once again in top headlines but, not with any of its success reviews but, with a scene in the series that shows Saif Ali Khan throwing away kada as it insults Sikhs. Akali Dal MLA Manjinder Sirsa, has simply has slammed the streaming giant, Netflix and Anurag Kashyap for presenting a scene in Sacred Games 2 that shows Saif’s character throwing away his kada in the seas.

Delhi MLA Manjinder Singh Sirsa, who is a member of the Akali Dal, has slammed Netflix and Anurag Kashyap for a scene in the web series Sacred Games in which Saif Ali Khan is shown throwing away his ‘kada’ (a bangle that is a religious symbol for Sikhs).

Sirsa, who is an MLA from Rajouri Garden in Delhi, has demanded to remove the concerned scene in Sacred Games on an immediate basis. The MLA has also threatened to take up legal action if the scene isn’t removed at once.

Taking onto his Twitter account, Manjinder Sirsa said, “I wonder why Bollywood continues to disrespect our religious symbols! Anurag Kashyap deliberately puts this scene in Sacred Games S2 where Saif Ali Khan throws his Kada in sea! A KADA is not an ordinary ornament. It’s the pride of Sikhs & a blessing of Guru Sahib. Why was the main character made Sikh if you didn’t do any research on the identity of Sikhs & how 5 kakaars (including Kada) are quintessential for Sikhs.”

He further added, “I demand removal of this scene asap or we will take legal action against the production team.”

As known the scene has irked Sirsa as it shows Saif Ali Khan’s character Sartaj, who is a Sikh police officer, throwing away his kada in rage while standing in front of the Mumbai sealink.

Sirsa had even raised a few objections to Sacred Games Season 1 as well.

The popular web series was launched on Netflix last week and received mixed reactions.
