Anurag Kashyap feels we live in strange times, says, “Sushant is always trending and everything else is boycotted”

Director Anurag Kashyap is gearing up for his time-travelling thriller Dobaaraa, which features Taapsee Pannu as the lead. In an interaction with the media, he discussed the significant change after the death of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Sushant is trending now and then, even two years after his demise. On the other hand, everything else faces a boycott.

The filmmaker feels that we all live in a strange time and need to survive. He states, “It’s been two years since Sushant Singh Rajput passed away. But, even today, he trends now and then. Everything else except him is being boycotted and it is happening everywhere. From political parties and Indian cricket teams to Bollywood, everyone is facing this growing boycott culture. A strong boycott culture has impacted our nation, and if you are not facing a boycott, then you are simply not important or attention-worthy.

We are all aware of Taapsee recently stating that she wants people to trend boycott for her movie. The actress said that she too wants to join forces with Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar, and Alia Bhatt.

This boycott trend has made people worried to a large extent, especially Bollywood celebs. Just like Anurag said, everything that matters is facing a boycott. Whether it is Ranveer Singh having a hard time due to his nude photoshoot or Aamir Khan gaining hate and boycott trends from his statements on India, and many more.

Anurag Kashyap, popular for films like Gangs of Waseypur and Black Friday, also noted the fact that he can’t make such films anymore. He tried writing a script, but everyone is afraid of boycotting, and no one is interested in buying a script that remotely focuses on politics or religion. He raised the question of how a filter can present the reality of current affairs if a filmmaker doesn’t have the freedom to create according to him.

So, what do you think of his opinion? Let us know in the comments.
