Anil Kapoor to star in the high octane action thriller ‘Subedar’

Anil Kapoor is set to star in the high-octane Hindi action movie ‘Subedar,’ according to recent media reports. “I have done a lot of action films, but this is a pure action film, a dramatic action film,” Anil recently told Variety. “I’m really looking forward to that. The plot is currently being kept under wraps. Principal photography will begin on September 15.”

Subedar will be produced under the banner of Vikram Malhotra’s Abundantia Entertainment and it will be directed by Suresh Triveni.

This is Suresh Triveni’s third directorial venture after Tumhari Sulu and Jalsa. Interestingly, this is the first time he will exploring this action genre as both his previous directorial ventures were social dramas. Makers have kept the rest of the details about the film’s plot and cast and crew under wraps.

In the interview, Anil also confirmed that he is also going to be working in the Hindi remake of a critically acclaimed Malayalam film Android Kunjappan Ver 5.25.

In the film, Anil will be seen reprising the role of an obstinate old man who is very hesitant to adapt to any new-age technology. Suraj Venjaramoodu had played that role in the original Malayalam film.

Meanwhile, Anil Kapoor will be next seen opposite Ranbir Kapoor in gangster drama ‘Animal’ which is set to hit the theatres on 11 August.
