Amrita Rao Bags Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Award for her film Thackarey
Amrita Rao is on Cloud 9 at the moment as she is chosen for Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Award for her recent film Thackarey playing the screen wife of the late Shiv Sena leader Bala Saheb Thackeray. She has bagged the award for the Marathi version of the movie, which happens to be her debut Marathi film in her career. However, this is not the first time when she has bagged this award. The last time she got this award was for the film Vivah in 2007.
Talking about this achievement, the actress said that since Dadasaheb Phalke is considered to be the Indian cinema father and also happened to be a Marathi and to get this award for her debut Marathi film is both amazing and symbolic. With this award, she is now getting several offers but she being choosy would take time to consider the one. She also spoke the same and said that she is getting too many offers after her comeback on the silver screen.
She then said that people are happy to see her back in the films. She concluded saying that she would take time in deciding the right kind of movie for her as she is looking for something different that should be exciting for her. She also said that since the cinema is changing at a faster pace, the methods of acting and other things are also changing. She has to groom according to that. The said award would be given to her on an award ceremony to be held on 20th April 2019.
