Ameesha Patel Reflects on Complex Bond with Anil Sharma: ‘Industry Veterans Had Doubts About His Ability to Handle Gadar

After Gadar 2 director Anil Sharma called Ameesha Patel “bade ghar ki bitiya” (daughter of a wealthy family) with some attitude issues, the actor has now opened up on her equation with the filmmaker and revealed how stalwarts of the film industry “didn’t have faith in him to do justice to the subject of Gadar: Ek Prem Katha”.

In an interview, Patel said that she had a “good working relationship” with Sharma, but that they had “their share of disagreements”. She also said that she understood why some people in the industry had doubted Sharma’s ability to make a film like Gadar.

“Gadar was a very ambitious project, and it was a risk for Anilji to make it,” Patel said. “But he had a clear vision for the film, and he was determined to make it happen. I’m glad that he did, because Gadar became a huge success.” Patel also said that she was grateful to Sharma for giving her the opportunity to play the role of Sakeena in Gadar. “It was a dream role for me,” she said. “And I’m glad that I got to play it with Anilji.”

The Gadar franchise is one of the most successful in Bollywood history. The first film, Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, was released in 2001 and was a huge box office hit. The sequel, Gadar 2, was released in 2022 and was also a commercial success. Ameesha Patel has starred in many successful films, including Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai, Humraaz, and Ajnabee. She is one of the most popular actresses in Bollywood.

Patel’s hard work paid off, and she gave a critically acclaimed performance in Gadar. The film was a huge box office success, and it is considered one of the most iconic films in Bollywood history. Patel’s comments are a reminder that even the most successful actors have to deal with challenges and setbacks. But with hard work and determination, anything is possible.
