Amazon Prime Video released a rip-roaring song titled ‘Main Sherni’ from Vidya Balan’s Sherni
Prior to the premiere of Sherni, an offbeat drama starring Vidya Balan, Amazon Prime Video released ‘Main Sherni,’ a rousing song showcasing a diverse cast of characters in addition to Vidya Balan.
This special soundtrack, sung by Akasa and Raftaar, honours stories of perseverance. It salutes and applauds the bravery of these Shernis, who have stood their ground, defied the obstacles, and carved out a niche for themselves by refusing to follow the usual path.
The music video stars Mira Erda (F4 Racer and Driver Coach), Natasha Noel (Body positivity influencer and Yoga trainer), Eshna Kutty (A social media influencer and hula-hoop dancer) and Trinetra Haldar (First transgender doctor in Karnataka), Jayshree Mane (a front line warrior at B.Y.L Nair Hospital), Riddhi Arya (A student who delivers food to frontline warriors), Anita Devi (Security Guard), Seema Duggal (Teacher), Archana Jadav (House Help) along with Vidya Balan. Utkarsh Dhotekar composed ‘Main Sherni,’ which is written by Raghav.
Talking about the song, Vidya Balan says, “The music video Main Sherni is our tribute to all the women across the globe who have this indomitable spirit of never giving up. Sherni is special for all of us and with this film and music video, we are celebrating women who have shown us that there is nothing a woman can’t do. Just like Vidya Vincent, my character in the movie, we want to show that women are fearless and powerful … and that you don’t have to roar to be a tigress. This is what we have tried to capture in this anthem .”
Singer AKASA says, “I couldn’t be more proud to be a part of a song that celebrates women, and their strengths. With this soundtrack, we are hoping to awaken the inner shernis inside every woman around the world and motivate them to never give up, chase their dream and always keep working hard. The Amazon Original Movie is directed by award-winning filmmaker Amit Masurkar, who is best known for the critically acclaimed film ‘Newton.’ It is produced by T-Series and Abundantia Entertainment.
Starting June 18, Prime subscribers in India and 240+ other countries and territories will be able to see Sherni exclusively on Amazon Prime Video.
