Alia Bhatt drops the teaser of her dark comedy Darlings, and it is quirky

Alia Bhatt makes her debut as a producer with Netflix’s original Darlings. The actress shared the first look teaser of the film today, along with Alia the film also stars Shefali Shah, Vijay Varma, and Roshan Matthew. Darlings, directed by Jasmeet K Reen, is also co-produced by Alia Bhatt and Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment. After Dear Zindagi, this is her second collaboration with the superstar.

Dropping the first glimpse of the film, Alia wrote, “It’s just a tease Darlings. Arriving 5th August #DarlingsOnNetflix.” The one minute thirty second long teaser for the Netflix film features the four actors as well as a Hindi narration of the famous frog and scorpion fable.

Along with the teaser, Netflix India released the first official Darlings poster. “Kya ek meindak aur bichhoo dost ho sakte hain? Darlings, watch on 5th August, only on Netflix,” read the caption.

Darlings is a quirky dark comedy set in Mumbai the story of the film revolves around the lives of a mother-daughter relationship. In the film, Shefali Shah will play Alia Bhatt’s mother, while Vijay Varma and Roshan Mathew will play pivotal roles. The teaser depicts a romantic track between the characters Vijay Varma and Alia Bhatt.

The film’s music is composed by filmmaker-composer Vishal Bhardwaj and it is the directorial debut of writer Jasmeet K Reen. The film will be released on Netflix on August 5.

Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt recently surprised her fans with a series of pictures from Karan Johar’s talk programme on Sunday. The star will also appear in Koffee With Karan. She will be seen with her ‘Rocky aur Rani ki Prem Kahaani’ co-star Ranveer Singh on ‘Koffee With Karan’ season 7.
