Akshay Kumar to Be seen as a Villian in Ajay Devgn starrer Golmaal 5

The beloved Golmaal comedy franchise is gearing up for its fifth installment, and a major casting update has caught the industry’s attention. According to an exclusive report by Variety India, Akshay Kumar has joined the star-studded ensemble of Golmaal 5, set to portray the main antagonist opposite Ajay Devgn’s character.
Since its debut in 2006 with Golmaal: Fun Unlimited, the franchise directed by Rohit Shetty and it has become synonymous with high-energy humor and a dynamic ensemble cast. The upcoming film is said to introduce fantasy elements and a stronger villain arc, while maintaining the playful spirit that fans love.
Akshay Kumar’s addition is a significant twist. Renowned for his roles in comedy franchises like Hera Pheri, Housefull, and Welcome, Akshay is reportedly taking on a negative role that breaks from the usual comic rivalries in the Golmaal universe. This marks his second consecutive antagonist role after portraying a villain in Priyadarshan’s Haiwaan alongside Saif Ali Khan.
Ajay Devgn will once again anchor the cast, joined by familiar faces including Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, and Kunal Kemmu. Veteran comedians Johnny Lever, Sanjay Mishra, Mukesh Tiwari, and Ashwini Kalsekar are also expected to return. There’s speculation about Sharman Joshi reprising his role, though Kareena Kapoor Khan’s participation remains unconfirmed. Production is slated to begin by late February 2026 at Mumbai’s Film City, targeting an early 2027 theatrical release.
